There are presently no open calls for submissions.

The Editors at The Citron Review really look forward to reading your work!

To submit to Poetry, Creative Nonfiction, Flash Fiction, and Micros (across genres), please scroll down for the correct category.

Creative Nonfiction is open year-round.

Poetry and Fiction read submissions February 1st – November 30th.

Please note:
Toward the end of each month, we may pause submissions briefly upon reaching our Submittable limit.

Please submit all of your pieces in one single submission and to only one genre per quarter. If the guidelines are not followed, your submission may be declined.

We welcome our past contributors to submit new work, but we ask that you please wait two years from the date of your last Citron publication before sending new work.

You may attach multiple pieces (within a genre) for your submission.

- Attached files should be named as such: "Title_Author_Genre_Date"

- Please use the submission space provided for a brief cover letter and include a short bio in the third person (by way of introduction–no more than a paragraph).

- If you have not heard from us before the next issue is published, please feel free to contact us for an update.

Publication Rights: We publish only previously unpublished work. We will have first time publication rights only. All other rights remain with the author. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but it is expected that you will notify us if this is the case. Additionally, authors must notify us immediately if their work is published elsewhere.
